What some are saying about past workshops…

“First off, I was nervous to apply because Parker has been my idol forever! And hello, an application? That was so nerve wracking… Turns out he wanted to pair people up that best suited each other and the whole purpose of the workshop. He did in fact do that! Was it worth the money? absolutely! Was it worth the lack of sleep and being pushed to the limit ?? Hell Yes! It was mind blowing.Parker was everything I imagined him to be, loves the art, he was so honest with us about our own work and about his work and himself. He really CARES about what he’s doing, he isn’t trying to be a rockstar and feed the mainstream… he’s trying to shoot what he loves. Melissa, his wife is just so wonderful. They took such great care of us the entire time. I can’t say I’m a workshop junky, I’ve done 3 my entire life because I need to make sure they are worth my time and money. and this was by far the most rewarding. I wouldn’t hesitate to take the workshop again some day and hope to do so!”

They say “When the student is ready, the master comes”. I didn’t know Parker then, but when I heard of the concept of his workshop, I felt excited at the idea of being in an environment where I would be encouraged to push my own creativity rather than just watch how someone else “does it”. I wasn’t disappointed! With a mixture of 2 min surprise challenges and more elaborate set-ups, Parker got us all far beyond our own comfort zone – and it was glorious! I loved every single minute of this crazy ride; I loved every single person that Parker had selected to be part of the group as we all had the same desire: to grow and be better more true-to-ourselves photographers. I went home feeling I had started to reconnect to whatever makes my work original – and that feeling has continued to grow since. If you want to see and do new things, if you’re not afraid to “fail” a few times, if you are the kind of person that can fall 7 times and get up 8, then trust me, this is the workshop for you. On a side note, in a world where it seems that every instructing photographer is out there to sell you something, Parker was there only to share his passion for Photography. He is one of the most generous and genuine person I’ve ever met. I feel lucky to have crossed path with him and the entire gang.’

“Amazing – that’s about sums it up. This workshop was like none I’d ever been to before, and left me feeling rejuvenated, thankful, and excited to get back to photographing.”

“Parker J’s workshop is just like Parker J. Inimitable. Bold. Human. I left this 3-day retreat (much more than a workshop) with a new view of the world, myself, and my photography. A “new eye” as Parker put it. If you’re looking for just another session about lighting technique, camera technique, or photography business – don’t go. DO go if you want to wake up your soul, send a sharp jolt into your creative vision, and renew your passion for photography. Bring your running shoes and workout clothes: you’ll play, laugh, drink, and shoot all day and night. You’ll witness Parker’s polo shirt printing uk and an improvisational approach that makes you feel like you’re at a Miles Davis or Jack White concert. If you only go to one photography retreat ever, and have the honor of being selected by Parker to attend – book the next flight to Ashville, North Carolina.”
