This series follows the Thompson family's plight and fate during the onset of COVID-19.
Father Thompson (preacher), a gun toting survivalist, was the family’s photographic historian and taught the kids all he knew. After the sickness took the baby, the illness tore through the entire family, only to spare the boy.
Although this is a fictional narrative, in Pfister’s head the fear over COVID-19 was very real and created great anxiety. Creating these images on his birthday was a way to examine and express that anxiety.
This series of photographs, set in a fictional narrative, is documented by the family’s Koronaview 5x7 camera with a remote release.
No one in his family was harmed during the making of this series.
